How to Play Juno Early in Overwatch 2: The Debut of the New Support Hero

Juno, the highly anticipated support hero for Overwatch 2, has been announced. Fans can expect her to make her debut in Season 12, but there is a way to access and play her before then. Read on to find out how.

Juno, also known as Space Ranger, has been the subject of much anticipation since their announcement at BlizzCon 2023. The long-awaited newest support hero for Overwatch 2 has finally been revealed for the hero shooter.

The full kit and character designs of the newest Overwatch hero have now been revealed, causing much excitement among fans who are eager to try her out when Season 12 begins on August 20, 2024.

Similarly to previous heroes, she will have an early availability for a limited period. Here is a guide on how to try out Juno ahead of time.

Overwatch 2: Early Guide to Playing Support Hero Juno

Juno will have a limited free weekend available for early play, starting on Friday, July 19 and ending on Sunday, July 22. After that, she will not be available until her full release in August.

Upon launch, Juno will be completely free to play, eliminating the need to purchase the battle pass in order to access her.

You don’t need to do anything special to access Juno early. She will automatically be available to all players who log into Overwatch 2 during the weekend. You can choose her in your matches, try out her abilities, and compare her to the other heroes on the roster.

Juno’s kit seems to focus heavily on mobility, as her Hyper Ring ability provides a movement speed boost to allies passing through it, similar to Lucio’s speed boost. Additionally, she possesses the ability to double jump and glide, which aligns perfectly with her galactic aesthetic.

Although the playtest is scheduled to take place before her official release, there may still be some balancing issues with Juno. However, there is no need to worry as these weekends are specifically designed for testing purposes.

The feedback received for Juno enables the developers to determine if her statistics are excessively high or low. This, hopefully, ensures that she will be a well-received addition in Season 12, avoiding a repeat of the previous experience with another tank hero.
