However, as their lives took different paths and circumstances changed, Kafka was forced to give up his lifelong dream.
After being hired by Monster Sweeper, Inc., a renowned cleaning company that focuses on clearing the debris left behind by Kaiju fights, he discovered that Mina Ashiro had become the Captain of the 3rd Division of the Defense Force. Sadly, he still feels inadequate to join her in battling Kaiju.
At his job, Kafka encounters Reno Ichikawa, a driven individual with an unwavering desire to join the Defense Force. Reno’s determination to succeed reignites Kafka’s own aspirations of fighting alongside Mina to defend humanity against the Kaiju. A dream that had been dormant for so long is now revived by a powerful promise.
