Despite being the founder of HYBE, Bang Si Hyuk’s image and reputation plummeted in the eyes of numerous K-pop fans. He received severe backlash for his controversial comment about aespa, allegedly disregarding the presence of NewJeans within the company, removing the “K”from K-pop in order to appeal to a wider market, and other controversial actions.

On May 13, it was reported by Korean news outlets that on April 3, Min Hee Jin had sent an email to HYBE and BELIFT LAB.

According to sources, the email that was allegedly sent by the parents of NewJeans’ members expressed their feelings about the plagiarism issue between ILLIT and NewJeans, as well as their concerns about Bang Si Hyuk’s treatment of the group.

The email clarified that the decision to declare the report was not influenced by ADOR. It also criticized HYBE for neglecting the NewJeans members while they were trainees at SOURCE MUSIC.

The email shared that as a leader in the K-pop industry, it is important for HYBE to create a practical and healthy environment for its artists. Therefore, we are eager to hear their response and any potential steps towards restoration.
