Criticism Mounts Against BTOB Company for Poor Management and Communication
BTOB Company, a new label under DOD Entertainment, is currently under fire for its alleged mismanagement and communication failures, particularly concerning its handling of the beloved boy band BTOB. The company now oversees four out of the six original members, and many fans feel that presenting a four-member group under the BTOB name undermines the group’s established identity and brand integrity.
Concert Conflicts Spark Backlash
The situation escalated as BTOB Company scheduled a concert for the four-member unit titled “BTOB” from December 27–29. This announcement coincided with Lee Changsub’s solo concert, which had already been advertised and sold out. Consequently, this overlap forced many fans to cancel their tickets for Changsub’s concert, leading to frustration as they incurred additional costs to switch to the four-member show.

Attempts at Damage Control Fail
In an effort to alleviate tensions, BTOB Company produced a YouTube video entitled “2025 BTOB New Year’s Gathering, ” featuring all six members. Unfortunately, the video only exacerbated existing issues when Lee Changsub discussed his solo encore concert. Leader Seo Eunkwang’s apparent lack of awareness, responding with “Oh, really? When is it?” highlighted a troubling communication gap among the members. The uncomfortable silence that followed further illustrated the disconnection.
During the gathering, suggestions were made regarding the need to avoid scheduling conflicts. Seo Eunkwang proposed checking for overlaps, while Lee Changsub emphasized the critical need for improved dialogue. Contrarily, Lee Minhyuk downplayed the issue, suggesting that some overlaps are just part of working in the industry, while Im Hyunsik appeared to agree. Notably, BTOB Company later edited the gathering video to emphasize Lee Changsub’s remarks, which fans interpreted as tacit approval of the scheduling conflicts.
A Call for Better Communication
Yook Sungjae made a poignant statement during the discussion, saying, “The agencies need to communicate better. That’s the best solution.” He added, “At the end of the day, we are only united because of Melody (the fanbase).Without Melody, I wouldn’t even see my hyungs.” His words resonate deeply with fans who feel that the agency’s lack of transparency is undermining the bond between them and the group.
The Future of BTOB Company and Fan Relations
As frustrations continue to brew among the BTOB fanbase, there remains significant uncertainty regarding how BTOB Company will respond to these mounting complaints. Fans are left wondering if the agency will take actionable steps towards better management and communication or if they will continue to overlook the problems at hand.
