HYBE’s new girl group audition is coming! Breaking through the global 6000:1 competition to participate in the final competition, the information of 20 trainees is fully disclosed for the first time!

At 9:00 am Korean time today, HYBE Entertainment and Geffen Records (Geffen Records) held a press meeting for the global girl group talent show “The Debut: Dream Academy”in LA, USA, and released photos of the 20 participating trainees for the first time.

The 20 trainees, with an average age of 17, come from 12 countries including the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Switzerland, Sweden, Slovakia, Belarus, the Philippines, Thailand, and Australia, covering different cultures and races. In the past two years, 120,000 people from all over the world signed up, and every trainee stood out with a competition rate of over 6,000:1.

The purpose of this press conference is to announce the birth of a global girl group that is about to capture the US domestic market. More than 130 media from around the world participated in the event online and offline. HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk said that he has always hoped to cultivate talents discovered from various countries and create a global group with the methodology of Korean pop music. For this reason, he chose to join hands with Geffen Records, the “best partner in the global market”. The two companies established a joint legal person HxG two years ago, and company representatives, creative directors and other high-level officials attended the press conference.

Lin Zhenxian, head of creative production, said that what makes this group special is diversity, and the multicultural backgrounds and experiences of the members will have an impact on the direction of the music; English will be used to attract global audiences and global fans, and each elements into the music.

At the press conference, the list of 20 shortlisted trainees was released for the first time. After 12 weeks of competition, only 12 will make their debut. The show will be held in the United States, and viewers around the world can watch and participate in voting through the five major SNS platforms including YouTube, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, and Facebook.
