A 35-year-old office worker, known as A, lives with his wife who is 3 years younger. A confessed, “I am a fan of aespa’s Winter. Although I do not attend their concerts or have her photo as my computer background, if someone were to ask me ‘Which idol do you like?’, I simply reply, ‘I am a fan of Winter’.”
After listening to the teaser song from aespa’s upcoming full album, he asked his wife if he should purchase a copy. He explained that he hasn’t bought an album since his middle school days, when he bought a cassette tape of BoA, but he still considers himself a fan.
Despite the unexpected reaction, his wife grimaced and expressed her disgust, pointing out the significant age gap of over 10 years.
Feeling annoyed by her comment, A replied, “Is it also disgusting that your mom is a fan of trot singer Jeong Dong-won and follows him around?”His wife then responded in a serious tone, questioning his words.
A’s mother-in-law is known for attending all of Jeong Dong-won’s domestic and international concerts, often coordinating family gatherings around his performances. She also regularly accompanies him to signing events as part of her routine.
Ever since that day, his wife has been persistently questioning him, “Why do you prefer an idol who is over 10 years younger? Are you a pervert?”She constantly criticizes him, deeming it repulsive. In retaliation, A fires back by saying, “Your mother is no different,”causing a tense atmosphere in their home.
A person expressed their frustration, stating, “I’m so irritated that I feel like purchasing 10 copies of aespa’s full album and displaying them in the living room. However, I have a baby, so divorce is not an option. What course of action should I take?”
After reading the story, netizens responded by criticizing A’s wife for her remarks. They stated that while it is understandable to feel jealous, her words were excessive. Some also pointed out that it is not uncommon for people to marry someone who is more than 10 years older or younger. Furthermore, they defended A’s actions by stating that he is simply expressing his admiration for a celebrity and there is nothing wrong with that.
