Media outlets obtained an email sent to HYBE on May 13, which revealed that the parents of NewJeans accused Bang Si-hyuk, founder of HYBE, of intentionally ignoring and feigning ignorance about NewJeans.
ADOR, the agency for NewJeans, has verified the validity of the claims made in the email.
Despite the allegations, HYBE released an official statement denying the claims and accusing ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin of attempting to exploit NewJeans’ parents for her own benefit.
The complete statement from HYBE is provided below:
“We, on behalf of HYBE, would like to inform you.”
In response to the email sent by the parents of NewJeans, which was reported by a media outlet on the 13th, we would like to offer an explanation.
Upon examination, it is evident that the assertion that the ADOR incident began with (NewJeans) not being acknowledged or greeted is one-sided and lacks evidence.
We are truly sorry for Min Hee-jin’s actions of involving artists and their families in her personal pursuit of greed.
We have obtained proof, including
- The fact that sending emails attacking HYBE was part of a plan for corporate governance takeover and profit-seeking
- Min Hee-jin suggesting that if she raises an issue, it would violate the shareholders’ agreement, so she would use NewJeans’ parents
Our intention is to present this evidence to investigative and judicial authorities for their review and consideration.
It is absolutely unacceptable for Min Hee-jin to exploit artists by using them as shields and even involving their parents for her personal benefit. We strongly urge her to stop manipulating public opinion and instead focus on preserving the integrity and value of artists.
