ILLIT Thanks HYBE and BELIFT LAB Amid ‘ADOR Conflict’ – ‘Thank You for Believing in Us’

On the April 24th episode of “Cultwo Show”, special guests Yunah, Minju, Moka, and Wonhee from the group ILLIT joined as guests. However, Japanese member Iroha was unable to attend due to personal reasons and was staying in Japan. The special DJ for the show was actor Kwon Hyuk-soo.

At the show, ILLIT discussed their success in reaching the top of major domestic music streaming sites with their debut song “Magnetic” . Moka expressed her surprise and happiness at the positive response to “Magnetic” , stating that despite having debuted less than a month ago, people are still showing their support. Minju added that being on the charts feels like a dream and they are grateful for the opportunity.

Moreover, ILLIT, who was recently awarded first place on music shows, once again conveyed appreciation to the company officials.

During her speech, Yunah expressed gratitude towards the BELIFT LAB members, acknowledging that their debut album was a product of their hard work. She emphasized that the team was proud of their achievement and their dedication would remain unchanged. Furthermore, she extended thanks to the HYBE staff for their belief and support, promising to continue working even harder.

After hearing this, the DJs made light of the situation by saying, “Yunah must have prepared her remarks on an A4 sheet”and “She was well-prepared and wrote them in advance.”

At present, ILLIT is an artist signed with HYBE’s subsidiary label, BELIFT LAB. However, HYBE is currently facing a dispute with another subsidiary label, ADOR. This issue arose when HYBE discovered indications of ADOR’s management attempting to take control of HYBE’s management rights. As a result, HYBE exercised their audit rights on April 22nd and also sent a letter to ADOR’s board of directors asking for a shareholders’ meeting and for CEO Min Hee-jin to step down.

The CEO of ADOR, Min Hee-jin, made a public statement criticizing ILLIT for copying NewJeans. She accused ILLIT of imitating NewJeans in every aspect of their entertainment activities, from hair and makeup to costumes, choreography, photos, videos, and event appearances.
