In a significant leap towards its vision of an “agentic OS, ”Microsoft is integrating AI agents directly into the Taskbar of Windows 11. As part of this upcoming feature, the AI agents will serve not only as task executors but also as real-time communicators. Each agent will manifest as an interactive icon in the Taskbar, providing visual feedback: a green checkmark indicates task completion, while a yellow alert prompts additional user input. This setup aims to facilitate a smooth workflow by minimizing interruptions.
