Prior to becoming one of the most popular streamers on Twitch, Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys had to obtain her parents’ approval. She is currently the most-followed woman on the platform.

Pokimane was aware that it might take some effort to persuade her traditional parents to fully comprehend and support her decision to pursue a non-traditional career path. She knew that her parents might not be happy with her decision to leave her Chemical Engineering degree midway.

Despite completing two years of her studies, Poki decided to leave college and instead created a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation to show her parents why her chosen profession would be more financially lucrative than her degree.

“She gestured downward with her arms and exclaimed, “Just look at my college debt!”She then explained that she had decided to save up for one year and not return to college.

Despite her steady income, Poki’s mother remained doubtful about her job prospects and persistently inquired about her returning to school during the initial years of streaming full-time.
