Fans of the MLB The Show franchise have been eagerly anticipating the latest installment, MLB The Show 25. The excitement surged with the release of the first gameplay trailer, showcasing two iconic baseball legends who have long been on fans’ wishlists.
In MLB The Show 24, players enjoyed the addition of over 190 legends, including standout names like Andy Pettitte, Adrian Beltre, and Johan Santana. Despite these exciting inclusions, numerous significant figures still await recognition in the series. Notably, names like Alex Rodriguez, Nomar Garciaparra, and Barry Bonds have yet to make an appearance in the franchise.
New Legends in MLB The Show 25
The recently unveiled gameplay trailer concludes with an exhilarating glimpse of Roger Clemens delivering pitches clad in his New York Yankees gear, alongside the legendary Manny Ramirez launching a home run at Fenway Park. These highlights serve as a promise to fans eager for more legendary characters in the game.
Roger Clemens is often celebrated as one of the most formidable pitchers in baseball history. Over the span of his 24-year career, he achieved an impressive 354 wins, maintained a 3.12 earned run average (ERA), and amassed a remarkable 4, 672 strikeouts—making him third in the all-time ranking. Clemens’s accolades include being named an 11-time MLB All-Star and securing two World Series championships, in addition to seven Cy Young awards, a record unmatched by any pitcher.
While Clemens predominately played for the Boston Red Sox, it was with the New York Yankees that he captured both of his World Series titles, during an era that solidified the franchise’s legacy.
On the flip side, Manny Ramirez’s journey began in Cleveland but ultimately saw him rise to heroic status in Boston. He played a pivotal role in breaking the Red Sox’s 86-year championship drought, leading the team to victory in the 2004 World Series and earning the World Series MVP award in the process. Ramirez would further cement his legacy with another title in 2007 and is remembered as an exceptional hitter. His accolades include being a nine-time Silver Slugger and one of only 28 players in history to hit 500 career home runs.
While the addition of Clemens and Ramirez is sure to excite fans, it’s anticipated that MLB The Show 25 will introduce even more revered legends, further enriching the player experience.
