On June 23, the phrase “GEFFEN APOLOGIZE TO JIMIN”began trending on SNS platform X (previously known as Twitter) as many BTS fans expressed their frustration towards Geffen Records, the label responsible for promoting BTS in the US.
Specifically, supporters claim that Geffen Records purposely undermined Jimin’s solo comeback in order to promote their upcoming group, KATSEYE, who are scheduled to debut on the same day as Jimin’s album release.
Geffen Records is openly sabotaging BTS, failing their multimillion contract and laughing in our faces, and on the same day they’re debuting another hybe group Geffen has on recording contract.GEFFEN APOLOGIZE TO JIMINGEFFEN APOLOGIZE TO JIMINGEFFEN APOLOGIZE TO JIMIN pic.twitter.com/vliX5eSqjz

Moreover, it came to light that Ray Kurzeka, the Head of Streaming at Geffen Records, had also taunted BTS fans. In response to a tweet requesting improved promotions, he shared a link to a song by a different artist, proclaiming it as the “song of the year,”and disregarding the concerns of fans.
Despite less than a week left until the release, fans have expressed disappointment in Geffen Records for their lack of promotion for Jimin’s upcoming comeback. There have been no pre-orders available on iTunes for the male idol’s album, according to fans.
