Soyeon, leader of (G)I-DLE, openly expressed her thoughts on being compared to the “female G-Dragon.”
On July 9, Jeon Soyeon and Miyeon from (G)I-DLE were featured as guests on the YouTube channel “Life84″for a fun interview over drinks.
During her appearance on the show, Jeon Soyeon, a renowned singer-songwriter in girl groups, was likened to G-Dragon. Both are highly acclaimed idols in their field, known for their exceptional skills in both singing and rapping, and are actively involved in the creative process of their work.
After the comparison was made, Soyeon humbly replied, “You shouldn’t say that. I would never make such a claim.”
Despite Miyeon’s recent foray into acting with the web drama “Delivery”in 2021, the host jokingly asked Soyeon if Miyeon would leave the group to pursue acting. Soyeon reassured, “No, we will remain together as a team. I don’t mind if she acts within our group.”
Miyeon, the main vocalist of (G)I-DLE, shared her love for the group by expressing, “I adore singing.”
The hosts, Kian84 and Lee Si Eon, inquired about Soyeon’s long-term aspirations. Soyeon openly revealed, “As a songwriter, I aim to become a producer in the future. I hope to remain an idol for as long as possible, without having to pave the way for younger artists.”
Soyeon shared her thoughts on songwriting, referencing her popular tracks “TOMBOY,””Nxde,”and “Queencard.”She likened the process to having a regular job, explaining that sometimes it can be challenging and feel like a slump. However, she emphasized the importance of persistence, stating that with continued effort, she eventually finds inspiration and the lyrics flow naturally.
The idol’s ultimate dream, which has nothing to do with music, also surprised many when she revealed it.
Jeon Soyeon, who was born in 1998 and is now 26 years old, shared her ultimate dream of becoming a mother. She had originally planned to get married at 28, but time passed by too quickly.
Despite not emerging as the winner in popular competition shows such as “Produce 101″and “Unpretty Rapstar 3,”in which she made significant progress, Soyeon maintains a positive outlook. She confidently declares, “Since joining (G)I-DLE and meeting my fellow members, I have no regrets about my journey.”
Despite being repeatedly questioned about her dating life, Soyeon remained steadfast in her refusal to confirm or deny anything, stating, “I cannot disclose whether I am currently dating or not.”However, the idol did share her preferences when it comes to romantic partners. “I am attracted to individuals who do not possess excessive ambition or greed. As someone who is ambitious and driven, I appreciate someone who prioritizes happiness over material pursuits.”
