The “Good Partner”phenomenon is ongoing, as the show’s ratings continue to soar with each new episode.
During the August 25th episode of KBS Cool FM’s “Park Myung-soo’s Radio Show”, writer Choi Yoo-na, who has 13 years of experience as a divorce lawyer, was interviewed over the phone about her work on “Good Partner”.
Choi Yoo-na shared that she dedicated almost 6 years to the creation of “Good Partner”. Despite it being her first time writing a drama, she strived to make each episode captivating by crafting 7 to 8 parts for each one.
The latest episode of “Good Partner” , which aired on August 24, achieved exceptional ratings of 17.8% in the metropolitan area and 17.2% nationwide, with a peak of 20.1% (according to Nielsen Korea). It dominated its time slot and became the top-rated show. Such an overwhelming level of viewership can only be described as a phenomenon. When Park Myung-soo asked if Choi Yoo-na was aware of the show’s popularity, the writer replied, “As a scriptwriter, I am usually secluded in my room and do not experience the hype. In regards to the casting, Choi Yoo-na expressed, “As this is my first time, I was hesitant to speak up. I am incredibly thankful for the actors who have joined, such as Jang Nara and Nam Ji-hyun, whom I never would have expected to be a part of this project.”
Jang Nara’s portrayal of divorce lawyer Cha Eun-kyung in “Good Partner”has captivated audiences with her charismatic and enigmatic character. Her exceptional performance has sparked praises from viewers, who are already predicting her to be a top contender for the SBS Drama Awards this year. Some have even suggested that SBS should engrave Jang Nara’s name on the award immediately.
As the “Good Partner”trend continues, the show is only at its midway point. A large number of viewers are eagerly awaiting and closely following the upcoming developments of the show.
