The Wanderer has been mysteriously appearing around the Battle Royale island map in Chapter 5.

Even though fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Avengers film in 2026, a leaked 2024 Roadmap for Fortnite reveals that Doom is set to wreak havoc on the island in mid-August. This lines up perfectly with the release date of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4, which is planned for August 16, 2024.

Just like previous seasons, Fortnite is anticipated to include a live event that revolves around the game’s lore. In recent seasons, this lore has been focused on The Wanderer and has been explored through various story quests.

After appearing in multiple questlines during the Myths and Mortals season, the original Fortnite character was officially introduced in Chapter 5 Season 3 as The Wanderer. Since then, sightings of this mysterious character have been reported at various POIs and landmarks throughout the map.

In a post to the FortniteBR Reddit, PLAYED_YT, a prominent Fortnite player, pointed out that the presence of The Wanderer on the island coincided with the appearance of Iron Man artifacts.

The term “Iron Man artifacts”pertains to the Stark Industries Rift Beacons which were incorporated into the Chapter 5 Season 3 map through multiple mid-season updates.

Despite the lack of interaction and varying directions of these objects, no explanation has been given for their presence.

In addition, a fellow player noted that in various scenarios in the comics, Battleworld, and other sources, Doom has been depicted wearing a white cloak, similar to The Wanderer’s own white cloak.

Despite attempts by others to connect the NPC’s spawning locations, no relation to Doom was found. These locations include Coastal Comms, Estate Station, Placid Pumps, Cliffside Lodge, the area east of Nitrodrome, and the area south of the Dam Bridge.

Despite the skepticism surrounding Fortnite’s 2024 Roadmap, it has remained true to its predictions thus far. All of the collaborations, including those with Billie Eilish, Metallica, Avatar, and Pirates of the Caribbean, have been released on or around the specified dates.

After taking everything into account and with The Wanderer’s journey set to continue in Chapter 5 Season 4, the unveiling of Doctor Doom as the enigmatic figure has only solidified it as the most compelling theory.

To mark the release of yet another MCU film, Marvel has once again teamed up with Fortnite to launch a new set of Deadpool & Wolverine skins and cosmetic bundles on July 27.
