Is There a Rumored Move of Kill Tony to Netflix? Comedian Hints at Major Deal, Second Only to JRE

It is possible that the popular comedy podcast ‘Kill Tony’ may be making a transition from YouTube to Netflix, in a deal that could rival Joe Rogan’s $250 million contract with Spotify.”

At UFC 303, Tony Hinchcliffe, the mastermind behind Kill Tony, was caught boasting about a supposed agreement he was making with Netflix, stating that it was on par with “the Spotify deal”- in reference to The Joe Rogan Experience.

In June, during its 666th episode, Kill Tony had a surprise for its audience when Hinchcliffe revealed that Netflix executives and owners were present. However, the audience’s reaction was unexpected as they booed the Netflix representatives but cheered for the YouTube execs.

The comedian proceeded to make a joke about how the crowd may have jeopardized a multi-million dollar deal for them.

As of now, there has been no announcement of a deal. However, if Kill Tony were to make the move to the streaming platform, it would essentially place the show behind a pay wall, meaning that viewers would need a Netflix subscription to watch it.

Despite this, the specifics of the potential deal between Netflix and Hinchcliffe are uncertain. It is possible that the platform may finance larger specials, which would enable the show to remain available for free on YouTube.

The segment starts at 16:10.

The rumor arises as Netflix remains dedicated to developing live programming. In the recent past, the streaming service featured The Roast of Tom Brady, a special in which Hinchcliffe made a brief appearance.

In addition to streaming a live Joe Rogan comedy special on August 3, Netflix has also announced that it will be airing the highly-anticipated Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight on November 15. Furthermore, the streaming service has secured the rights to stream WWE programming beginning in 2025.

The ‘Kill Tony’ podcast has consistently garnered millions of views per episode and has featured notable guests such as Joe Rogan, Tim Dillon, Ari Shaffir, Tom Green, and Bert Kreischer.

As of July 2024, the most-watched episode of the podcast featured Shane Gillis as Donald Trump and Adam Ray as Joe Biden. Since its release, the episode has accumulated over 15 million views.
