IShowSpeed, the popular streamer, recently tested his skills at the UFC Performance Institute, confronting strawweight competitor Vanessa Demopoulos. His attempt to engage in some lighthearted grappling quickly turned serious as Demopoulos showcased her expertise on the mats.

On September 26, during his ongoing United States tour, IShowSpeed stopped by the UFC headquarters for what was intended to be a fun encounter. However, Demopoulos, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, proved to be a formidable opponent. Throughout the brief training session, Speed faced multiple submissions, including triangle chokes and a head-and-arm choke, culminating in a double armbar that highlighted Demopoulos’s skill.

Training With a Champion

Even though the experience was challenging, Speed remained upbeat. Between rounds, he garnered valuable advice from fellow fighters on how to better defend himself, aiming to avoid such quick submissions in future instances.

Demopoulos later took to Instagram to share clips of the session, captioning them, “Speed came to the PI to have some fun today. He acknowledged his defeats. So much fun!!” This interaction exemplifies the community spirit within the UFC, where even entertainers like Speed can learn from seasoned professionals.

This sparring session is merely the latest event in a whirlwind U. S.tour for IShowSpeed, which has been filled with highs and lows. Just days prior, on September 21, the content creator expressed feelings of loneliness to his fans, saying, “I need somebody to talk to. I feel alone. I feel like nobody understands me.”

Adding to the drama, while touring San Francisco on September 26, Speed witnessed a hit-and-run incident. A vehicle abruptly hit a motorcyclist after hesitating at a green light, before speeding away without ensuring the safety of the rider.
