Jack Doherty Joins Twitch Following Kick Permanent Ban for McLaren Crash

Jack Doherty, a streamer known for his controversial antics, has made the transition to Twitch after facing a permanent ban from Kick due to a serious incident involving his McLaren, which he crashed while distracted by his phone.

On October 11, he made his debut on Twitch with a brief five-minute livestream, just days after the accident that left his cameraman injured. “Live on Twitch,”he tweeted, signaling his arrival on the new platform.

During his initial stream, Doherty expressed that he misses his Kick audience and sought guidance on how to steer clear of getting banned on Twitch. “How do I stay good?” he asked. “How can I avoid the same fate as on [Kick]? What do I need to do to remain in good standing here?”

The 21-year-old content creator mentioned that he is hopeful about getting reinstated on Kick. Adin Ross, co-owner of the platform, supposedly stated that Doherty would need to fork over a staggering $300,000 for his ban to be lifted.

“You have to pay me 300k in cash if you want to be unbanned on Kick. Otherwise, you’re indefinitely banned. Go over to Twitch and get banned there,” Ross declared during an October stream.

Doherty’s switch to Twitch follows a live session on TikTok where he ‘begged’ for financial support, asking viewers for gifts, which led to ridicule from social media users.

In a notable gesture, he surprised his cameraman with a luxury jet ski as an apology for involving him in the crash and for making him stream the aftermath despite his injuries.

Given the nature of Doherty’s often outrageous streaming ventures, it’s uncertain how long he will remain on Twitch if he continues with the same kind of content he did on Kick. He has indicated plans to stream again on Twitch after this initial October 11 test, leaving fans curious about his upcoming content and his ability to stay within Twitch’s community guidelines.
