Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has addressed allegations suggesting he was paid to lose by knockout in his rematch with Jake Paul in December 2021.
The two fighters faced off for the first time on August 29, where Paul emerged victorious via a split decision. Following dissatisfaction with the outcome, they fought again on December 18, resulting in Woodley’s defeat by KO at the hands of Paul.
Shortly after the second bout, a TikTok video gained traction, alleging that the fight had been fixed.
Nearly three years later, during an interview segment where individuals were asked about the potential outcome of a fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, one participant—a self-identified cousin of Woodley—stated that the former UFC champion was allegedly compensated to “take a dive”in his rematch against Paul.

He remarked, “If it’s paid off, Jake Paul. If not, Mike Tyson is gonna knock him out… Tyron Woodley is my literally f**king cousin. My name is Julian Woodley. So I know for a fact, that motherf**ker got paid to take the knock.” This assertion sparked widespread speculation among viewers questioning the validity of the relationship.
In response, Tyron Woodley swiftly dismissed these claims, asserting that the individual in the video is not his relative. He retweeted the clip, stating: “N**** wish he was my kinfolk.”
Supporters rallied around Woodley, expressing their belief in his denial of the allegations. One fan commented, “This kind of s*it should get him sued or knocked out,”while another added, “I don’t understand how people can lie so easily.”
Jake Paul has consistently defended the legitimacy of his fights, emphasizing that they would not receive sanctioning from regulatory commissions if they were not above board.
