Jake Paul has recently announced the five fighters he plans to challenge following his upcoming match against Mike Tyson, but surprisingly, his list does not include the speculated WBA title fight.
Ever since becoming a part of the boxing world, Jake Paul has consistently expressed his desire to face top-notch opponents and test his abilities. His ultimate aspiration is to achieve the status of a world champion, and there has been talk of a potential title bout.
The WBA president, Gilberto Mendoza, has expressed his willingness to consider a match between Jake and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. for a championship title. However, at the moment, Jake is focused on his upcoming fight against Mike Tyson, which had to be rescheduled.
Jake and the famous heavyweight boxing legend are scheduled to face off in mid-November, but the former YouTube star, now a boxer, is already planning for what’s to come. He has a list of five opponents he wants to take on, but Cesar Chavez Jr. did not make the cut.
“During his appearance on the August 6 episode of the FULL Send podcast, Jake mentioned a star-studded lineup of athletes including UFC champion Alex Pereira, McGregor, Canelo, KSI, and Tommy Fury.”
The timestamp at 35:00 remains the same.
Jake’s mention of KSI also caught the attention of the NELK Boys, who questioned why the fight has not taken place yet. Jake explained that the main difficulty lies in determining the weight for the match. “We initially agreed on 185 pounds, but that was almost a year and a half ago. Since then, we have both gained weight and I am no longer able to make the 185-pound limit. This has been a major hurdle in making this fight happen.”
Despite the speculation surrounding a potential title fight against Cesar Chavez Jr., the former YouTuber-turned-boxer confidently stated that he is not intimidated by any opponent and is eager to continuously push himself with challenging fights.
Rumored to be Jake’s backup fighter in case Tyson is unable to fight in November, the Mexican has previously held the WBC Middleweight title and was also scheduled to be on the undercard of the first fight. Therefore, he remains on the Problem Child’s radar.
