The upcoming project marks Jang Ki-yong’s return to the screen after completing his military service, which has generated even more excitement than usual due to its timing, about three years after the 2021 drama “Now, We Are Breaking Up”.

In previous works, he has displayed a variety of styles, including suits, hanboks, uniforms, and a clean boyfriend look. Now, in his latest work, he brings attention to the character Bok Gwi-joo’s background and development of “depression”by portraying him in worn-out achromatic-colored clothing.

In his acting career, Jang Ki-yong portrays a father for the first time in “The Atypical Family.”

Jang Ki-yong shared his initial concerns about taking on the role of a father for the first time, stating, “Initially, I was worried about my ability to portray a father convincingly, but I ultimately chose to immerse myself in the character and fully grasp the journey of young Bok Gwi-joo as a father.”

In the highlight video, Bok Gwi-joo’s joyful expression as he holds his newborn daughter is a stark contrast to his previously despondent and lackluster demeanor, heightening anticipation for Jang Ki-yong’s nuanced portrayal of emotional complexity.
