A video titled “Happy Jiyeon’s day” was posted on Jiyeon’s YouTube channel on June 6th.
As Jiyeon applied her makeup, she shared her enthusiasm, “My birthday is just a few days away. Jae-gyun’s original plans were canceled due to the rain, so he finished work early. We have decided to go out to eat in honor of my upcoming birthday.”
Jiyeon shared her anticipation, “Last year, my husband was away for a game, so we communicated through video calls. During one call, he asked me to open the door and to my surprise, there was a gift waiting for me. I had no clue and was completely taken aback. ‘What should I expect this year?’ And now, we’re getting ready to dine together.”
When Jiyeon saw Hwang Jae-gyun, she happily exclaimed, “While I was doing my makeup, I remembered how we spent my birthday last year apart. But now, it’s my first birthday after getting married!”Jiyeon was also intrigued when her husband surprised her with a restaurant reservation. Hwang Jae-gyun playfully joked, “We’re going to Kimbap Heaven.”
It was a surprise to Jiyeon that Hwang Jae-gyun had reserved the same location where he had proposed to her before. As they stood there, Jiyeon couldn’t believe they were back in the same spot. Hwang Jae-gyun then asked, “You cried the last time we were here, didn’t you?”to which Jiyeon replied, “Yes, I did. That’s where you proposed to me. I had no idea it was coming. As their meal came to an end, she was delightedly surprised with a cake bearing a birthday message.
Amidst all of this, Jiyeon has been facing a barrage of hateful comments directed towards her husband, Hwang Jae-gyun. The incident took place on June 5th, during the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League game between KT Wiz and Hanwha Eagles at Suwon KT Wiz Park, when a brawl broke out after the game. Following the game, Jang Sung-woo and Hwang Jae-gyun confronted Park Sang-won, resulting in a bench-clearing altercation. Unfortunately, this led to Hanwha fans bombarding Jiyeon’s social media accounts with derogatory remarks aimed at Hwang Jae-gyun, sparking controversy.
