Jo Jung-suk’s Memories of Working with the Late Lee Sun-kyun

A screening for the movie “Land of Happiness”(directed by Choo Chang-min) was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 6th. The event was attended by members of the press and distributors.

Jo Jung-suk described the dynamic on set by saying, “Lee Sun-kyun and I shared similar roles, while Yoo Jae-myung played our adversary. Despite our characters’ differences, the three of us formed a close bond like brothers and enjoyed each other’s company on set.”

During previous official occasions, he had expressed, “I have always admired actor Lee Sun-kyun for his impressive portrayal of an older brother and his passionate acting skills. He was truly a warm-hearted person, and that is how I will always remember him.”

Despite his longing for the late Lee Sun-kyun, he continued to express his happiness and gratitude for being able to work on the film, stating that he has nothing but warm memories from the experience.

The upcoming film, “Land of Happiness,”is based on the events of October 26, 1979. It follows the journey of Park Tae-joo, who is instructed by his superior to participate in the assassination of the president, and Jung In-hoo, the lawyer who takes on the case. This trial becomes the most notorious political trial in the history of South Korea. The film is scheduled to be released on the 14th.
