Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 257 Reveals New Information about Yuji and Sukuna’s Blood Relation

Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen series is no stranger to fan theories. Each week, fans actively create and share theories that may eventually prove to be accurate or are dismissed as too far-fetched.

Despite the numerous theories that gained popularity among the fandom, one in particular suggested a potential deep connection between Yuji and Sukuna that could be traced back to the Heian Era. This theory proposed that Yuji may actually be the reincarnation of Sukuna’s twin brother from the Heian Era, fated to defeat the King of Curses in the present day.

Despite the initial translations of the upcoming chapter seemingly confirming this theory, it was eventually revealed that Yuji’s father, Jin Itadori, was actually the one directly connected to Sukuna.

In the updated versions of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 257, a flashback scene features Sukuna and Uraume discussing Yuji’s origins. To everyone’s surprise, the King of Curses reveals that Jin is actually his reincarnated twin from the Heian Era.

Sukuna claimed that while he was still in his mother’s womb, he had absorbed his twin brother due to his intense hunger. The twin brother’s soul was said to have been reborn in the present day as Jin Itadori, who was later brought together with Yuji by Kenjaku.

Fans were taken by surprise when it was uncovered in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga that Kenjaku had inhabited the deceased form of Jin Itadori’s wife, Kaori Itadori, before giving birth to Yuji. This unexpected revelation completely altered the direction of the story.

After this revelation, fans were able to understand Yuji’s remarkable physical abilities, leading them to speculate that Kenjaku could have designed Yuji to be the perfect vessel for the King of Curses.

It appears that Yuji has a closer link to Sukuna, as revealed in the spoilers for the next chapter. Additionally, Yuji was observed to have acquired Sukuna’s “Shrine”Cursed Technique.

The surprising revelation that Jin is actually Sukuna’s reincarnated twin came as a shock to many fans, completely derailing the belief of those who thought Yuji was Sukuna’s twin from the Heian Era.

It has been a popular theory among fans that Yuji is closely related to Sukuna by blood. However, it was quite surprising to discover that he is actually the nephew of the King of Curses. This revelation could possibly shed light on Sukuna’s intense animosity towards Yuji, as it is likely difficult for him to accept a family member as his prison instead of a vessel.

Yuji’s close connection to not just one, but two of the main antagonists in the series adds even more chaos to his already tumultuous life. Despite this, the disclosure of this information brings some understanding to Kenjaku’s true motives for selecting Jin Itadori to bear a child for his sinister schemes.
