Jujutsu Kaisen: Akutami might have foreshadowed Yuta’s return as Gojo via an official art

Despite not being known for its foreshadowing, Jujutsu Kaisen has caught the attention of some observant fans on social media. They have recently brought to light an intriguing detail that suggests Gege Akutami may have hinted at the latest development in the series long before it was revealed.

The unexpected twist of Yuta taking control of Gojo’s body and rejoining the battle against Sukuna has undoubtedly become the darkest moment in the series so far, surprising fans.

During the two-week hiatus of the manga following chapter 262, fans stumbled upon an old cover art that potentially foreshadowed Yuta’s potential return within Gojo’s body and the result of his ongoing battle against Sukuna.

Did Sukuna’s cover art in Jujutsu Kaisen foreshadow Yuta taking over Gojo’s body?

Despite being an unexpected turn of events in the Jujutsu Kaisen series, the fact that Yuta Okkotsu has taken over Satoru Gojo’s body has not gone unnoticed by fans on social media. They have recently pointed out that author Gege Akutami may have hinted at this development in one of his cover arts featuring Ryomen Sukuna.

The post shared by @JujutsuSpoilers on X revealed an interesting detail on the cover art of Sukuna, which may have hinted at the possible return of Yuta as Gojo. The cover art shows Sukuna holding a skull with a scar on its forehead, accompanied by glowing green eyes.

According to speculations from fans, this could potentially be a direct allusion to Yuta’s possession of Gojo’s body. The cover art may have also foreshadowed his fate following his battle against the King of Curses. This connection was brought to attention with the recent release of a double-colored page featuring Yuta in Gojo’s body alongside Sukuna, as some online users noticed Yuta’s eye color appearing green instead of his usual blue.

Despite Yuta’s supposed green eyes and the stitches on his forehead, fans were convinced that Gege Akutami had foreshadowed him taking over Gojo’s body in the Sukuna cover art. Additionally, the skull that the King of Curses was holding may have also hinted at the outcome of the fight.

Netizens also speculated that Sukuna holding the skull could suggest that he would not only defeat Yuta once again, but also potentially consume his opponent as the King of Curses.

Despite this explanation, there were still fans who remained unconvinced as they believed that the “foreshadowing”was a weak justification. They argued that Yuta’s green eyes in the double-colored page could simply be attributed to Akutami’s previously confirmed color blindness.

Additionally, the idea of Yuta losing and being devoured by Sukuna is highly improbable. While it may not be completely impossible at this stage in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, such a scenario would be the most disastrous turn of events in the series thus far.

Giving Sukuna an unnecessary powerup would not only have disastrous consequences for Yuji Itadori and the other characters, but it would also put Akutami in a difficult position as a writer. This is because the remaining characters are not currently strong enough to defeat the King of Curses, resulting in the downfall of the Jujutsu society.

Due to Akutami’s health concerns, the Jujutsu Kaisen manga is currently taking a two-week hiatus. As fans eagerly anticipate the next chapter, there may be a number of theories circulating.
