The previous issue had hinted at the comeback of the beloved character Satoru Gojo, causing much anticipation among fans. While some were hesitant, there were also fans who held onto the hope that Gojo had truly made a comeback.
Despite fans’ predictions, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261 revealed that they were only partially correct. The chapter unveiled that Yuta Okkotsu had indeed taken control of Gojo’s body using Kenjaku’s Cursed Technique, as evidenced by the familiar stitches on Gojo’s forehead that were also present on Geto’s body.

However, when looking back at the full context, this scene becomes alarming as Yuji remains unaware of the true repercussions of Gojo’s defeat and the underlying tension among everyone present.
Upon further reflection, fans have deemed this particular scene as one of the most emotional and intense in the series. It is understandable why, given the context of the situation. This may have been the final conversation between Yuji Itadori and Gojo for everyone else, except for Yuji. Despite the characters’ awareness of the potential consequences, they all remained optimistic and trusted in Gojo’s abilities.
Despite the serious mood, no one, not even Gojo, explains to Yuji why the scene is so challenging. Gojo, who is clearly trying to maintain Yuji’s optimistic demeanor, acquiesces to his request in an effort to calm everyone down, adding another layer to their interaction.
