The latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, chapter 261, left readers stunned with a shocking twist. It featured Satoru Gojo’s unexpected comeback to the battlefield to face off against Sukuna, adding to the already dark tone of the series. This turn of events was unlike anything anyone could have predicted.
Despite causing a significant uproar among the Jujutsu Kaisen fanbase online, the chapter also offered further clarification on one of the most gruesome Cursed Techniques in the series – Kenjaku’s Body Swapping technique.
Not only did it serve as the key to reviving Gojo in the battlefield, but it also had unforeseen consequences for another beloved character, making it a double-edged sword.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 261: Kenjaku’s Cursed Technique Revealed
Undoubtedly, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261 featured an incredibly shocking moment as Yuta Okkotsu utilized Kenjaku’s Body Swapping Technique to inhabit Satoru Gojo’s deceased body and rejoin the fight on the battlefield.
During a flashback, Yuta revealed his plan to the other Jujutsu sorcerers to take over Gojo’s body in the event of his death during his battle against Sukuna.
In a sudden attack, Yuta managed to defeat Kenjaku and then had Rika devour the ancient sorcerer to acquire his Body Swapping Technique. Yuta planned to use this Cursed Technique to try and defeat Sukuna by taking over his teacher’s body as a final resort.
Despite Maki’s explanation that Yuta could only utilize his Copy Cursed Technique when Rika was fully manifested, and that this manifestation would only last for 5 minutes, Yuta remained uncertain about what would occur after the time limit had passed. Mei Mei proceeded to outline three possible outcomes.
If Kenjaku’s ability is constantly activated in the first scenario, Yuta would be unable to retain control of both Gojo’s body and his own soul, ultimately resulting in his death.
In the alternate situation, if Kenjaku’s power is only activated at intervals, Yuta wouldn’t immediately perish once the time limit expires. However, inevitably, he would meet his demise in due time.
If Kenjaku’s ability only requires activation once in the third scenario, Yuta would still be able to use Gojo’s Limitless technique even after 5 minutes have passed. However, Yuta’s original body would have to be discarded in this scenario, as he would remain inside Gojo’s body indefinitely.
Despite the conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261 with a Domain clash between Sukuna and Yuta inside Gojo’s body, none of the three mentioned possibilities have been officially confirmed.
Fans will have to wait for chapter 262 of the manga, which is scheduled to be released after a one-week hiatus, in order to uncover the inner workings of Kenjaku’s Cursed Technique.
There has been scarce information revealed about Kenjaku’s Cursed Technique in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga thus far. In fact, there has been no definite confirmation on the number of individuals whose bodies he has possessed during his 1000-year existence.
In the story thus far, it has been disclosed that Kenjaku has possessed the bodies of notorious individuals such as Noritoshi Kamo, Suguru Geto, and Kaori Itadori, the mother of Yuji Itadori. He has demonstrated the ability to utilize the Cursed Techniques of his former hosts, as evidenced by his numerous confrontations throughout the series.
Despite the upcoming couple of chapters, it is unlikely that Kenjaku’s Cursed Technique will be further explored. As a result, the ancient sorcerer will continue to be one of the biggest mysteries in Jujutsu Kaisen.
