Jujutsu Kaisen: Despite Their Hatred, Akutami Cannot Let Go Of Gojo

Gege Akutami, the mangaka of Jujutsu Kaisen, is notorious in the anime community for his strong disdain towards Satoru Gojo, the beloved protagonist of his masterpiece. This animosity has been evident as the renowned author has consistently made efforts to undermine the character’s popularity and intentionally antagonize him.

Despite previously expressing relief at sidelining Gojo following the Shibuya arc, Akutami’s recent actions in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga suggest that he is unable to let go of his most popular creation. While it was evident that he had been trying to write Gojo out of the story for some time, it seems that Akutami has now changed his mind and is keeping the character in the forefront.

Jujutsu Kaisen: The Possible Impact of Satoru Gojo’s Death on Gege Akutami

There is no denying that Satoru Gojo is widely regarded as the most treasured and adored character in the Jujutsu Kaisen series. Despite his immense popularity and admiration among fans of animanga, there was one individual that the masked sensei was unable to win over – his own creator, Gege Akutami.

In recent years, Akutami has made his dislike for Gojo evident to the fanbase. He even went as far as to declare Gojo as a character lacking in personality, and expressed satisfaction when Gojo was sidelined in the Shibuya Incident arc of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, believing it to be a positive development for his own work.

Despite all the events that occurred during the Battle of the Strongest, it was ultimately revealed that Akutami had given Gojo a lackluster death. This was further confirmed by the fact that Gojo’s demise was not shown on-screen, solidifying the idea that the mangaka had little respect for the character.

Despite his strong dislike, Akutami has consistently included Gojo in the majority of recent chapters. This has ranged from subtle mentions to detailed flashbacks, with Gojo even teaching about a newly-introduced ability. As a result, some fans have speculated that the mangaka may be foreshadowing Gojo’s potential comeback.

In chapter 257 of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, Gojo made a brief appearance in a flashback scene where he gave Ino permission to use Nanami’s Cursed Tool. He was also mentioned in chapter 258, as Sukuna used his hand sign to open his own Domain.

This clear allusion took many fans by surprise, as they were understandably shocked to see the King of Curses utilizing Gojo’s hand gesture for the Malevolent Shrine.

Despite the fact that it’s highly improbable that Akutami’s view of Gojo has changed in the current point of the manga, the primary reason for the latter’s frequent appearances is most likely due to his significant role in the story and cannot be disregarded even after his death.

Despite his intense dislike for Gojo, Akutami has made him an essential and prominent figure in the narrative of Jujutsu Kaisen due to his immense popularity. This is evident as Gojo consistently makes brief appearances every time a new technique or development is introduced in the ongoing story.

Therefore, fans can be reassured that Gojo will make additional appearances in the upcoming chapters of the manga.
