Jujutsu Kaisen finally gives Yuji his first win against Sukuna

Despite being the main character of the Jujutsu Kaisen series, Yuji Itadori consistently faces hardships and unfair treatment throughout the entirety of the story. Fans have expressed their frustration with the lack of victories for Yuji, believing that author Gege Akutami has never allowed him to come out on top against his opponents.

Despite the challenges faced, chapter 257 of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga marked a turning point for Yuji. He not only bravely faced off against Ryomen Sukuna, but also impressively defeated the King of Curses with a series of Black Flash attacks. This achievement officially surpassed the previous record set by Gojo and Nanami.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 257: Yuji Overpowers Sukuna with Eight Consecutive Black Flashes

The latest installment of Jujutsu Kaisen, chapter 257, did not disappoint as it delivered an exhilarating reading experience. Not only did it unveil the unexpected connection between Yuji Itadori and Ryomen Sukuna, but it also showcased an intense battle between the two.

Yuji continued to display his impressive skill with the Black Flash attack in chapter 257, following up his initial success in the previous chapter with a total of seven more successful strikes. This achievement officially surpassed Nanami’s record, and even Sukuna himself was taken aback by Yuji’s effortless execution of consecutive Black Flashes.

Moreover, it was discovered that Yuji had successfully mastered Sukuna’s “Shrine”Cursed Technique while in an awakened state induced by his Black Flash attacks. However, as Shrine was a recently acquired technique for Yuji, its potency was noticeably weaker compared to Sukuna’s powerful slashing attacks.

Despite putting all his effort into a series of strikes and slashes, the King of Curses was shocked to find that Yuji was able to withstand his attacks and even counter with a relentless barrage of Black Flashes, matching Sukuna’s power.

After learning that Yuji was the reincarnated twin of Jin Itadori, Sukuna’s son, it became apparent that the speculation about his hidden potential being on par with the King of Curses was becoming true. This was further confirmed in the chapter when Sukuna became enraged and questioned if Yuji was trying to surpass him.

Despite Sukuna’s attempts to defeat him, Yuji remained unfazed and continued to fight back against his opponent. Sukuna’s composure finally broke when he was hit with a seventh consecutive Black Flash at point blank range, showing visible frustration for the first time since his battle with Satoru Gojo.

Despite Sukuna’s consistent acknowledgement and praise of his opponents’ strength, he stubbornly refused to acknowledge Yuji’s progress throughout the story and instead referred to him as a mere ‘brat’.

Throughout the early stages of their battle in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, Sukuna constantly insulted Yuji by claiming that he was not unique and that Sukuna had no interest in him.

Despite Sukuna’s initial belief that Yuji was no match for him, the tides have turned in the battle. If Yuji successfully lands a few more Black Flashes in the next chapter, he may surpass the King of Curses and finally put an end to his reign of terror.
