It would not be an exaggeration to describe the current state of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga as complete chaos. Following Satoru Gojo’s defeat at the hands of Ryomen Sukuna in a showdown between the two strongest pillars of the Jujutsu society, chaos ensued as the entire cast of characters wasted no time in joining the battle to defeat the King of Curses.
Despite this, it is important to mention that the sorcerers did not recklessly charge into battle without a well-thought-out strategy. In fact, they had meticulously crafted a cohesive plan that accounted for various scenarios, in the event that Gojo were to be defeated by the King of Curses. With this in consideration, let us examine the extensive preparations and countermeasures that the Jujutsu sorcerers had devised to defeat Sukuna.
Explaining the Complete Plan to Take Down Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen: A Closer Look at Gojo and Yuta’s Strategy
Despite being aware of Satoru Gojo’s immense responsibility in carrying the entire Jujutsu society for most of his life, the sorcerers at Jujutsu High found it difficult to imagine him losing in a fight. However, they were hesitant to solely rely on Gojo, especially since his opponent was none other than the strongest sorcerer in history, Ryomen Sukuna.
As a result, Yuta Okkotsu and the rest of the sorcerers at Jujutsu High developed various strategies to anticipate and handle any possible mishaps, including the possibility of Gojo’s defeat by Sukuna.
Each sorcerer, whether it be the formidable Yuta Okkotsu, Maki Zen’in, and Kinji Hakari, or the healing abilities of Arata Nitta and Shoko Ieiri, was assigned a crucial role in the battle.
For instance, Hakari’s responsibility was to prevent Uraume from disrupting the plan. Meanwhile, Yuta was given the mission to eliminate Kenjaku and his cursed spirits and serve as the ultimate backup against Sukuna. In case Yuta was unable to defeat Sukuna within his territory, Maki would take over and execute a surprise assault on the King of Curses.
Undoubtedly, Yuta played a crucial role in the plan to defeat Sukuna. He not only successfully eliminated Kenjaku, but he also had to master the ancient sorcerer’s Body Swapping Cursed Technique, which proved to be essential in the later stages of the plan.
However, in order for Yuta to catch Kenjaku off guard, Fumihiko Takaba was required to confront him in a bizarre fight, allowing Yuta to remain hidden. Additionally, Yuta assisted Aoi Todo in mastering his new Boogie Woogie Cursed Technique, in order to protect their comrades from Sukuna’s possible Domain Expansion.
It is worth mentioning that Yuta pursued Kenjaku after Hajime Kashimo took on an injured Sukuna, who had just fought against Gojo. However, Kashimo’s defeat was already anticipated by Hiromi Higuruma and Yuji Itadori, who had planned to intervene immediately after Kashimo’s demise.
Higuruma intended to utilize his Judgeman Cursed Technique to seize Sukuna’s Cursed Technique. It was assumed that if the Judgeman determined Sukuna to be guilty of his crimes in Shibuya, he would be sentenced to confiscation and the death penalty. Higuruma based this assumption on the fact that Sukuna’s Ten Shadows technique would likely be depleted after his confrontation with Gojo, making it easier for Judgeman to confiscate his Shrine Cursed Technique.
If such a scenario were to occur, Higuruma could utilize his Executioner’s Sword, which had the ability to defeat Sukuna in a single strike. In the unfortunate event that things did not go as planned, the other sorcerers would simply need to hold off Sukuna until Yuta could rejoin the battle.
From this point on, Yuji and Yuta were both tasked with crucial responsibilities. Yuta utilized his Jacob’s ladder technique to inflict as much damage as he could on Sukuna after activating his domain. This would then prompt Sukuna to use Hollow Wicker Basket, giving Yuji the opportunity to strike the King of Curses with his soul-damaging punches while he was weakened, ultimately weakening his hold on Megumi’s body.
During this moment, Sukuna found himself in a desperate situation. Not only was he being continuously struck by Jacob’s Ladder, but both his hands and second mouth were either restrained or destroyed. In order to help Yuji reach Megumi’s soul and rescue him, Yuta briefly stopped using Jacob’s Ladder.
Despite Yuji successfully reaching Megumi’s soul, it was at this moment that everything began to unravel. Megumi had lost all determination to live, leading to an opportunity for Sukuna to regain some strength and unleash a World Bisecting Slash on Yuji and Yuta.
Thankfully, the sorcerers had prepared for this situation. Yuta willingly destroyed his Domain, where he had placed the Soul Split Katana, and moved it to the same location as the other sorcerers. This pre-emptive measure allowed Maki to enter the Domain and launch a surprise attack on Sukuna.
Meanwhile, Kusakabe, Ino, Miguel, and Larue, along with other sorcerers, were placed on standby as reinforcements in case Maki was unable to defeat Sukuna. Todo was also given the responsibility of rescuing his allies if the King of Curses managed to regain his Domain Expansion. Ui Ui played a crucial role in the battle by teleporting injured or deceased sorcerers to Shoko.
Finally, chapter 261 of Jujutsu Kaisen unveiled Yuta’s intentions to use Kenjaku’s Cursed Technique to take control of Gojo’s body and have a final chance at defeating the King of Curses. While many were hesitant about this plan, Yuta assured them that he would only resort to it as a last measure. Even Gojo showed no objection, claiming that he was indifferent to the fate of his deceased body.
All of the strategies and preparations made by Yuta and the other Jujutsu sorcerers to defeat Sukuna have been presented. As they enter the final stage of their plan, which involves Yuta resorting to his last option, it will be intriguing to see the outcome, especially considering Yuta’s expected demise within five minutes.
