Jujutsu Kaisen manga’s ongoing story has become a “fan-fiction” for Gojo stans

The loss of Satoru Gojo had a profound impact on the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. The absence of the strongest pillar in Jujutsu society has resulted in an overwhelmingly grim situation, as Ryomen Sukuna continues to wreak havoc without end.

Despite Gojo’s victory over Sukuna weakening him significantly, the powerful King of Curses has continued to dominate over the current roster of characters. This has led fans of Satoru Gojo to reject any events in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga after chapter 235, dismissing them as “fan fiction”in order to deal with the bleak state of the story.

The Significance of Gojo’s Victory in the Jujutsu Kaisen Manga

Ever since the release of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 235, the situation has deteriorated for both the current roster of characters and certain readers.

Fans were taken by surprise when Satoru Gojo’s death was revealed in chapter 236 of the manga. This was unexpected because he had been declared the victor of his battle against Sukuna, and the fact that his death occurred off-screen only added to the shock.

Despite the belief of many fans that Gojo’s death could have been avoided if it had been handled with more significance and respect, the introduction of Sukuna’s incredibly powerful technique, capable of instantly defeating anyone, has become a major issue for the series.

Despite being weakened, none of the sorcerers have been able to halt the King of Curses’ rampage. Therefore, fans are concerned that Jujutsu Kaisen will likely conclude with Sukuna emerging as the indisputable winner of the ongoing conflict.

After the death of Gojo, fans of the blindfolded sensei are now interpreting every chapter of the manga after chapter 235 as “fan fiction”due to the direction the story is taking. Chapter 235 ended on a positive note with Gojo emerging victorious in his battle against Sukuna, and even the author’s note declaring him as ‘The Strongest’ in the historic Shinjuku battlefield.

Despite all that, fans have collectively chosen to ignore any events that occurred after chapter 235. This is due to their strong attachment to the beloved character and their desire for the story to conclude with Gojo’s triumph, rather than delving into darker outcomes such as the King of Curses emerging as the victor or only a few characters surviving until the end.

“Shibuya Incident” – The Intense Arc in the Jujutsu Kaisen Manga

As a result of the aforementioned reasons, followers of Satoru Gojo choose to completely disregard the current plot of the manga, labeling it as a non-canon spinoff in which the demise of their beloved character resulted in the King of Curses wreaking havoc on the Jujutsu world.

Echoing this sentiment, another fan asserted that their current read was merely a non-canon spin-off and that the manga had already reached a definitive conclusion with Gojo’s triumph.

“What we r reading now is non canon spin offs yeah”

Another disgruntled fan expressed their disappointment with the panel in which Gojo was announced as the victor, stating that Gege Akutami, the mangaka, had never let them down as much as they did with that particular panel.

“No one has ever betrayed me as much as gege did with this panel”

Despite the fact that Jujutsu Kaisen actually ended at chapter 235 with a happy ending, another fan sarcastically maintained the facade by commenting that it was a rather short manga.

“What a short manga ending at 235, and a happy ending!”

Finally, a fan made it clear that the newer chapters were all fanart and that they had no knowledge of the source of these panels. They emphasized the importance of informing others about this.

“yeah idk where everyone is getting the newer panels from… someone has to tell them its all fanart”

Without a doubt, Gojo’s passing has left an irreplaceable void and a significant imbalance of power between the main characters and their adversaries. Therefore, it is the fervent wish of fans that Yuji Itadori will experience a new awakening and take on the role of Jujutsu society’s pillar, following in the footsteps of his beloved teacher.
