Jujutsu Kaisen: The Battle Against Sukuna and Yuji’s True Savior

The highly anticipated release of chapter 259 of Jujutsu Kaisen is scheduled for May 13, 2024. Fans are ecstatic about the early release, especially since it marks the return of a crucial character who may play a pivotal role in defeating the King of Curses.

Despite confirming the death of Blood Manipulation user Choso, the chapter also introduced Aoi Todo’s return since the Shibuya arc. Additionally, it was revealed that he still possessed his cursed technique. As a result, Aoi’s comeback could potentially result in Sukuna’s downfall.

However, some fans may overlook the significance of this sorcerer in Itadori Yuji’s journey. This could be due to the belief that Gojo Satoru is the sole savior of Itadori, having rescued him from execution at the beginning of the series. However, it is important to recognize the impact of Aoi on Itadori’s development, as it is what has shaped him into the powerful sorcerer he is today. Therefore, Aoi could be considered the true savior of our protagonist.

In chapter 259, Sukuna began by unleashing his Divine Flames and aiming them at the protagonist. Luckily, Choso intercepted the attack and protected Itadori Yuji, but he sadly perished from the burns. He expressed gratitude to Yuji for treating him like a brother and bid farewell.

Despite his reluctance to attack Sukuna, Yuji considered retreating after the demon killed one of his closest subordinates. However, Aoi Todo arrived and boosted the protagonist’s confidence. It was revealed in the chapter that Aoi had a plan that he chose not to share with Yuji, as the other sorcerers feared that Yuji might have a spiritual connection with Sukuna.

Despite having lost one arm, Aoi confidently asserted that he could still utilize his Boogie Woogie technique by relying on the slight heartbeat he felt from his cursed technique. With Sukuna currently weakened to the point of struggling to activate his own cursed technique, is it possible that this ultimate tag team could surpass the King of Curses in their final battle?

In the first episode, Itadori Yuji was revealed to be a vessel for Sukuna, causing the Jujutsu society to demand his execution. However, thanks to the influence of Gojo Satoru’s reputation, his execution was prevented. Additionally, Gojo taught Itadori about cursed energy, allowing him to navigate the jujutsu society and potentially make him the strongest sorcerer’s savior.

Although Gojo’s input for Itadori may seem insignificant in comparison to Aoi Todo’s, their first meeting during the Kyoto Sister School Goodwill Event arc proved to be a significant turning point. Due to their mutual love for women, they quickly formed a strong bond, at least according to Aoi. It was during this time that Aoi taught Yuji the Black Flash technique, which the protagonist would later master.

In addition, in the Shibuya arc, Itadori is on the brink of surrendering in his battle against the cursed spirits after the deaths of Nanami and Nobara. However, Aoi intervenes and instills him with enough determination to seek revenge for his fallen comrades. Aoi’s timely return to confront Sukuna proves that he is determined for Itadori to survive and defeat all the cursed spirits before his own demise.

Despite entering the jujutsu society and avoiding Itadori’s execution, Gojo Satoru was not solely responsible for ensuring the protagonist’s safety. Aoi took on the role of teaching Itadori and helping him become comfortable with the cursed sorcerers, making her the true savior instead of Gojo Satoru, who simply introduced Itadori to the society.
