On June 4th, the debut of “The Cherry Orchard”starring actress Jeon Do-yeon took place.
“The Cherry Orchard”is a Korean adaptation of the novel by Russian playwright Anton Chekhov. The narrative follows the character of Song Do-young (portrayed by Jeon Do-yeon) as she returns to Korea after a ten-year absence in America, prompted by the loss of her son. The story is set in 2024 and explores the complexities of modern Korean society.
Jeon Do-yeon’s return to the stage in this play comes after a 27-year hiatus since her last appearance in “Educating Rita”back in 1997. The production also includes an impressive cast featuring Park Hae-soo, Son Sang-gyu, Choi Hee-seo, Lee Ji-hye, Nam Yoon-ho, Park Yu-rim, Lee Se-jun, and Lee Joo-won, creating great excitement among audiences.
The performance has received visits from fellow actors who have come to show their support. Among those in attendance were Sol Kyung-gu, Esom, Lee Yeon, and director Byun Sung-hyun, who had previously collaborated with Jeon Do-yeon in Netflix’s film “Kill Boksoon”.
It is worth mentioning that Jung Kyung-ho, who appeared alongside Jeon Do-yeon in tvN’s “Crash Course in Romance”, was spotted attending the play with his girlfriend Choi Soo-young, causing a stir amongst onlookers.
In January 2014, the public became aware of Jung Kyung-ho and Soo-young’s relationship after paparazzi photos of them on a date were released.
Despite being in a relationship for 12 years, the couple has always kept their love private. However, they have recently made appearances on YouTube variety shows where they openly share their love for each other. Their relationship has also gained attention through sightings and reports of their romantic dates abroad.
