On June 7th, Jungkook shared on the international fan community platform Weverse, “Did you get the song gift, ARMY? I hope you enjoyed it.”
On that day at 1 PM (KST), Jungkook unveiled his digital single “Never Let Go”. The song, which is an English track with house rhythms, expresses Jungkook’s sentiments towards ARMY (fandom name). He played a role in writing and composing the song, sending a message to “always hold onto each other’s hands”.
Jungkook revealed, “I had you (ARMY) in mind from the very start while working on it. Originally, I had planned to showcase a dance with a house genre along with the song, but unfortunately, time constraints prevented me from doing so. It’s a shame. If I could go back in time, I would have found a way to film it somehow.”
On the occasion of the group’s 11th debut anniversary, Jungkook took a moment to reflect and stated, “It’s hard to believe it’s been 11 years. I am grateful for your unwavering support and I wish for your continued health and safety. As the summer heat can be intense, please take care of yourselves. Until we meet again, goodbye for now.”
Jungkook’s fan song “Never Let Go”has been released as part of the “2024 FESTA”celebration. FESTA is an annual event where BTS celebrates their debut anniversary (June 13th) with fans by releasing special songs. Similar to previous years’ group songs such as “So 4 More”(2014) and “Take Two”(2023), this year’s event features a fan song by Jungkook.
