Kagurabachi – Chapter 33 Recap

Kagurabachi’s 33rd chapter, “Defend to the Death,”begins with Chihro and Hakuri rushing towards the emergency exit door’s whereabouts, abandoning Soya Sazanami and Hishaku’s boss. Hiyuki appears at the scene and confronts the leader of Hishaku.

Despite the sorcerer’s claim that he would not be present, the Sazanamis are willing to risk their lives to protect the Rakuzaichi auction. As he uses his teleportation skill to depart, a group of Sazanami fighters suddenly appears and notices Hiyuki’s Flame Bone, identifying her as being from Kamunabi.

One of the Sazanamis expresses surprise as he had assumed the Kamuniabis to be a conservative branch. However, Hiyuki claims to differ from the rest. In response, the Sazanamis prepare themselves for a battle against the Kamunabi sorcerer.

In other parts of the chapter, the aftermath of Shiba’s fight with the Tou is depicted. The sorcerer questions a defeated Tou on how to unlock the entrance to the Sazanami cemetery, but they refuse to divulge the information.

At that instant, the chapter turns to the past, revealing a glimpse of an old Rakuzaichi auction. Kyora Sazanami beckons his two children, Hakuri and his twin brother, Tenri, to join him on the stage. He expresses their importance, as they are the only ones with the blood of the Sazanami clan flowing through their veins, to be standing on that stage.

Kyora urges them to safeguard their family’s time-honored customs from intruders. The chapter then shifts back to the present, revealing an item falling before Tenri from Kyora’s sub-dimensional vault.

A flashback sequence shows Hishaku’s boss and Kyora Sazanami discussing the object, which was revealed to be the last invention of Genichi Sojo before his death.

Despite his attempt to enter the same realm as Kunishige Rokuhira resulting in his demise, he managed to create a weapon capable of temporarily stabilizing the Datenseki and bestowing powers similar to those of an Enchanted Blade upon its wielder.

Tenri remembers his father’s instructions to protect the auction at all costs. Acting without hesitation, he seizes the item and his Spirit Energy manifests into a form resembling a Jellyfish. Shiba recognizes that the boy has acquired abilities similar to those of an Enchanted Blade.

In another location, Chihiro and Hakuri are ambushed by Soya Sazanami. As the young sorcerer observes his older brother, he realizes that he has never seen him in such a serious state before.

After carefully assessing the situation, Hakuri realizes that Chihiro’s Cloud Gouger is almost depleted. In response, he advises Chihiro to proceed while he readies himself to confront his older brother.

Chapter 34 of Kagurabachi will probably feature Tenri Sazanami unleashing her rage against Shiba. Thanks to Genichi Sojo’s legacy, the sorcerer now possesses abilities that are on par with those of an Enchanted Blade.

As a result, he plans to showcase his recently acquired abilities to prevent Shiba from disrupting the auction. In contrast, chapter 34 of Kagurabachi may feature Hakuri’s fight against his sibling. Now that he has mastered the art of Isou, he is expected to display his skills.
