After finally understanding the situation, Soya remains in disbelief. The chapter then takes a dive into another flashback, during which Kyora Sazanami reveals to Soya that he is the chosen successor of the Storehouse. However, this means he will have to give up his ability to use Isou.
Kyora stated that the ability to control both Isou and the Storehouse was only possessed by the first patriarch of the family. Furthermore, since the act of creating a Storehouse in a subspace was considered heretical, it was not passed down through bloodline. Instead, it could only be passed down through a sacred ritual.
Afterwards, the chapter resumes in the present where Hakuri Sazanami is depicted wearing the emblem of the Storehouse. Soya is taken aback, unable to believe that his younger brother has followed in the footsteps of the first clan leader as a rebel. Without warning, Hakuri swiftly lunges towards Soya, grabbing him by the throat with lightning-fast movements.
The boy remembers the ice girl’s words, wishing he had given her hope when she was trapped in the cage. He apologizes and vows to show her now. A narration exposes Hakuri’s unconscious use of nearly all his Spirit Energy to sustain the Storehouse.
Despite only recently becoming aware of it, Hakuri is now able to fully concentrate and harness his maximum Spirit Energy. The chapter concludes with Hakuri showcasing his most powerful Isou, successfully defeating Soya Sazanami.
