Kagurabachi Chapter 39: Chihiro and Hakuri’s Genius Compels Kyora to Use His Final Trump Card

The latest installment of Kagurabachi, chapter 39, was published in Weekly Shonen Jump issue #31 on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 12 am JST. The chapter follows the ongoing collaborative battle between Chihiro Rokuhira and Hakuri Sazanami against Kyora Sazanami.

Despite the protagonist’s display of remarkable genius that overwhelmed Kyora, the latter’s determination to save the auction drove him to resort to extreme measures.

In the past, Chihiro Rokuhira received assistance from Hakuri to enter Kyora’s Storehouse in Kagurabachi and retrieve his sword, Enten. By cleverly infusing his Spirit Energy into the prisoners, he enabled Hakuri to transport them, resulting in an expedited auction process for Kyora.

Kagurabachi Chapter 39: Kyora Sazanami vs. Chihiro Rokuhira

Kagurabachi’s 39th chapter, Surpass!, opens with Hakuri relocating the prisoners from Kyora Sazanami’s Storehouse to a different location. Hinao, who is riding in the car with Char and Mr. Inazuma, ponders if these individuals are the ones being sold at the auction. Char then asks Inazuma if he spotted his older sister among those who were rescued.

Continuing on, Kagurabachi chapter 39 focuses on the battle between Chihiro and Kyora. Chihiro unleashes his Kuro: Shred technique, but Kyora swiftly counters with a defensive wall to shield himself. Taunting Chihiro for his attempts to rescue the prisoners, Kyora notices that Hakuri may be reaching his breaking point.

The young sorcerer’s head is on the verge of splitting due to the constant strain of transferring the goods. As stated in Kagurabachi chapter 39, linking one’s mind to the subspace is extremely difficult and can result in brain damage if done excessively.

Kyora then emphasizes to Chihiro the immense importance of the Rakuzaichi, as it has been upheld by generations of ancestors. He is confident that the auction’s highlight will be the auctioning of two Enchanted Blades. The focus then turns to the auction hall, where the audience eagerly awaits as Kyora begins the countdown for the main event.

Amidst the bustling crowd, the Kamunabi’s Shinuchi Retrieval Squad members converse about the rarity of bidding for an Enchanted Blade, acknowledging that it is a historic opportunity for all. As they observe the figure on the stage, they come to the realization that it is not Kyora, but rather his preview.

In Kagurabachi chapter 39, Chihiro Rokuhira confronts Kyora Sazanami about his lack of remorse for the death of his children. Despite this, one of them contemplates if the real Kyora is currently engaged in a battle with Chihiro. Nevertheless, the sorcerer emphasizes that their purpose, Rakuzaichi, is of greater importance than their individual lives.

Additionally, in Kagurabachi chapter 39, the emphasis shifts towards action as Kyora manipulates the ground beneath Chihiro’s feet to disappear and creates unexpected spikes. Despite this, the main character manages to evade the attack by using Kuro: Shred.

As Chihiro navigates past obstacles, he becomes aware of his dwindling energy from the ongoing battles and his frequent use of Kuro: Shred. Meanwhile, Kyora sees this as the perfect chance to retaliate, especially with Hakuri injured. This bolsters the sorcerer’s belief that Chihiro will be unable to deploy his ultimate weapon.

The next part of the chapter follows Chihiro as he faces off against Kyora, once again utilizing Kuro: Shred. Despite his efforts, Kyora is able to defend against the barrage of slash-based attacks with the help of the Sazanami head. To catch him off guard, Chihiro unleashes a surprise attack by throwing his Enten at Kyora.

Despite this, the sorcerer refuses to give up. He manages to block the sword with his own and then throws several grenades at Chihiro. Kyora Sazanami believes he has successfully killed the boy, but to his surprise, the Enten user suddenly appears behind him. He realizes that Hakuri had expertly transferred Chihiro to safety just in time before the bombs detonated.

Despite facing the sword in his hands, the Sazanami head remains confident. He attacks Chihiro with a swift slash, only to discover that it is merely an illusion. In Kagurabachi chapter 39, the true Chihiro Rokuhira emerges, standing before Kyora Sazanami and launching a vicious attack.

Despite bleeding profusely, Kyora remembers Hakuri’s words from when he was a young boy, in which he promised that Kyora would one day surpass him as the leader of the clan. With tears and anger, the sorcerer then conceals his body underneath the floor. As the fatal wound overwhelms him, Kyora comes to the realization that he will not survive.

Nevertheless, with his death looming, he is determined to finish the Rakuzaichi. In chapter 39 of Kagurabachi, the focus shifts to the auction room where the Kamunabi members engage in a discussion about the true essence of the Shinuchi blade.

Usually, an Enchanted Blade’s abilities are restricted by their Eternal Contracts. Therefore, they are curious as to why Shinuchi possesses an additional layer of defense.

The members of Kamunabi theorize that Shinuchi’s power is so immense that even the Eternal Contract cannot contain it. The chapter concludes with a panel of Kyora, hinting at his intention to harness Shinuchi’s power.
