Kai Cenat, a popular Twitch streamer, recently found himself in a precarious situation when he accidentally ignited a fire in his arcade cabinet while streaming live from the AMP house. This incident unfolded after Cenat celebrated a viewer’s generous gift of 25 subscriptions by lighting a firework.
Since wrapping up his record-setting Mafiathon 2 subathon back in November, Cenat’s streaming schedule has been less predictable as he takes the time needed to recharge. However, on Thursday, January 23, during one of his streams, a fan’s enthusiastic support led to a moment of chaos.
The Incident Unfolds
Excited about the gifted subscriptions, Cenat declared, “Everybody clap, clap y’all.25 gifted!” as he prepared to ignite the firework. Unfortunately, as it went off behind him, the mood quickly shifted to one of panic as clouds of smoke filled the room. Cenat expressed his regret immediately, questioning his impulsive decision: “I might have crashed out, and I’m sorry. Why would I do that? Why the f**k would I do that? That was CGI, bro. What are my thoughts, bro? I’m about to get banned. I’m literally about to lose my job. Oh my god.”
Despite his initial insistence that the firework had not harmed his carpet, Cenat’s viewers quickly alerted him to the more pressing issue of flames erupting from his arcade cabinet. In a moment of urgency, he dashed to the fridge for water to douse the fire.
Following his unexpected firefighting act, Cenat proceeded with the stream, continuing to engage with his audience by reacting to various Reddit posts, collaborating with other streamers, and even enjoying music. In a surprising twist during the stream, he hinted at a potential collaboration with rapper Kanye West, having received an invitation to Japan, though he expressed skepticism about the authenticity of the invite.
This incident occurs shortly after another live streamer, IShowSpeed, abruptly ended his stream due to fireworks being targeted at his vehicle in Chile, highlighting the unpredictable nature of live broadcasts.
