Kick Surpasses Twitch in Dominant Market Segment

In a significant shift within the livestreaming landscape, Kick has recently overtaken Twitch in a notable streaming metric, establishing itself as a formidable competitor poised to maintain this lead for the foreseeable future.

Twitch, the industry giant, has encountered various adversaries over recent years, including platforms like Facebook Gaming and Mixer, which ultimately failed to make a lasting impact. While YouTube continues to thrive and platforms such as Rumble gain traction, it is the Stake-supported Kick that has emerged as the most formidable threat to Twitch’s dominance.

Kick’s success isn’t merely in attracting attention; it has enlisted several prominent streamers from Twitch, significantly impacting the viewer engagement on the Amazon-owned platform. Notably, in early July, Kick recorded over 1 billion hours of watchtime, reportedly capturing more than 25% of the streaming market share.

Kick’s Dominance in Spanish-speaking Viewership

The platform has marked another milestone, showing strength particularly among Spanish-speaking audiences. According to data from Kick Vs Twitch, which monitors viewership metrics across diverse demographics, Kick has officially surpassed Twitch in Spanish-speaking viewership.

This achievement occurred on July 3, with Kick consistently widening the gap thereafter, peaking notably on July 14. The statistics shared by KickVsTwitch also gained traction on Kick’s Spanish social media accounts, prompting a celebratory post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

This marks the second occasion where Kick has eclipsed Twitch regarding viewership among Spanish-speaking streamers. Previously, in October 2024, Colombian streamer WestCol achieved a remarkable milestone, drawing over 1 million concurrent viewers for the Stream Fighters 3 event, briefly elevating Kick above Twitch during that period.

Currently, Kick appears to be experiencing a sustained wave of success, as its dominance in the Spanish-speaking viewership segment is estimated to be approximately 60%, according to Kick Vs Twitch metrics.
