Kim Junsu’s Perspective on TVXQ’s Crisis with Big Bang’s Free-Style Dancing

On the 7th, a video titled “Second Generation Idol Summit”was posted on the YouTube channel ‘Jipdaeseong.’ The video featured Kim Junsu as a special guest, engaging in various conversations with Daesung.

During their appearance on the broadcast, Kim Junsu shared his joy, stating, “It’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other on a show since ‘Family Outing.’ The last time we had a personal meeting was when you attended the musical ‘Dorian Gray,’ which was approximately 6-7 years ago.”

Kim Junsu recalled his initial thoughts on Daesung, stating, “When TVXQ debuted, people assumed I was the main vocalist because my members were so handsome. However, when Big Bang debuted, I saw Daesung and thought, ‘He must also be an excellent singer and will likely dominate in Korea.’ I felt a sense of camaraderie with him as we both shared similar roles.”

Daesung continued, “Despite feeling exhausted, I made it a priority to observe Big Bang’s rehearsals. Their captivating presence was something our group lacked, and it greatly benefited us to witness it.” He also mentioned, “At the time of TVXQ’s debut, we were still in the audition process at YG. Our training period lasted approximately three years, leaving us with little free time to adjust to life at the company.”

Kim Junsu also mentioned that in 2006, their song “O-正.反.合.”(O-Jung.Ban.Hap.) helped them win the grand slam by receiving the top prize at every award ceremony that year. They were confident that there were no rivals in Korea and decided to focus on promoting in Japan.
