Konan’s victory against Obito would have ended Naruto

The clash between Konan and Obito was crucial in triggering the Fourth Great Ninja War in Naruto. Once their battle ended, Obito acquired the Rinnegan and obtained all the necessary elements to initiate the war.

The formation of the alliance with Kabuto coincided with Obito obtaining the Rinnegan, leading to the Fourth Great Ninja War. As a result of certain events, Madara was brought back to life and Kaguya was resurrected through him.

If Konan had managed to defeat Obito and protect Nagato’s Rinnegan, would the Fourth Great Ninja War have been avoided? In other words, could the Naruto series have potentially concluded at that point?

After Nagato’s selfless sacrifice using the Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique to protect the people of the Hidden Leaf Village, Konan, the kuniochi, brought his body back to the Hidden Rain Village. However, in chapter 508, Obito arrived in the Hidden Rain Village to steal Nagato’s Rinnegan and confront Konan.

The battle began with the kunoichi using her Paper ninjutsu techniques to strike Obito multiple times, causing him to sustain injuries. She then revealed her ultimate move, unleashing 600 billion paper bombs and throwing Obito onto them. The resulting explosion lasted for ten minutes.

Regrettably, Obito utilized Izanagi and managed to escape the seemingly inescapable explosion. Sneaking up behind the kunoichi, he pierced her in the torso. After putting her under a genjutsu, he coerced her into revealing Nagato’s whereabouts. Tobi then embarked on a journey to obtain the Rinnegan, successfully completing the initial phase of the Fourth Great Ninja War.

Later, Obito was approached by Kabuto, who offered to provide him with an endless supply of White Zetsu clones in return for Sasuke. Obito ultimately agreed and initiated the Fourth Great Ninja War. However, if the kunoichi had been able to defeat Obito with her 600 billion paper bombs, what would have been the outcome of the situation?

If Obito had not perished in the paper bomb explosion, the kunoichi could have successfully protected her friend’s precious kekkai genkai, Rinnegan, from being obtained by the enemy. Additionally, this would have prevented the Fourth Great Ninja War from being declared, as Obito was a key figure in the enemy’s ranks.

Even though Kabuto had the capability to resurrect Madara’s soul, similar to what was depicted in the manga/anime, it would not have been feasible for Madara to be reborn as Obito was intended to perform the Rinne-Rebirth on him.

Finally, the resurrection of Kaguya was also unachievable because Madara was unable to obtain the Sage of the Six Paths’ chakra in his reincarnated state. As a result, the events leading up to the Fourth Great Ninja War could have been altered.

Another perspective to look at

If Obito had not survived the paper bomb explosion, the series could have potentially made Sasuke Uchiha its main antagonist. During that period, Sasuke was the leader of Taka (formerly known as Hebi) and his goal was to destroy the Hidden Leaf Village by manipulating his brother into annihilating their clan.

Tobi’s death may have hindered Kabuto’s plan to revive past shinobi, including Itachi, resulting in Sasuke’s decision to attack the Hidden Leaf Village instead of seeking answers. This could have altered the course of the story significantly, but these are mere speculations.
