Following months of speculation about Kylian Mbappé’s future, Fabrizio Romano has officially confirmed that he will be joining Real Madrid, the current Champions League title holders.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward had previously announced his departure from the club through an emotional video last month. While his next destination was uncertain, Real Madrid was the only club rumored to be vying for his signature.
Fabrizio Romano’s recent tweet on his Twitter/X account confirms that the signing of Mbappé is finalized. The journalist has verified that all necessary documents have been signed, sealed, and completed.

Furthermore, the post’s content appears to validate that the choice to travel to Madrid was finalized in February. Additionally, there is no transfer fee associated with the agreement, as Mbappé’s contract with his previous team expires this summer.
The transfer process is expected to take an unusually long time to finalize. The club is planning to announce the player’s arrival on Monday, but Mbappé will not be able to be officially presented until mid-July after the conclusion of the Euros this summer.
The Frenchmen became part of a club that is currently celebrating their 15th Champions League victory. They claimed the title by defeating Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium, making this their sixth win in the past ten years.
Despite the conclusion of last night’s final, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti declined to discuss the transfer, stating that he would not be discussing any players who are not currently part of the team.
Jude Bellingham, a young talent from England who played a significant role in the Champions League Final, expressed his belief that the striker would elevate the team to new heights if he were to join Madrid.
Despite the departure of his compatriot Karim Benzema in 2023, who had scored 238 goals for the club, the Frenchman faces a daunting task of filling his shoes. Interestingly, Real Madrid began the Champions League final without a recognized striker and there seems to be a lack of competition for his position, despite the club’s overall prestige.
