League of Legends Players Urge Developers to Revise Victorious Sona Following Unsuccessful Updates

The League of Legends developers are facing requests from players to enhance Victorious Sona after announcing that they would only be updating the skin’s sound effects (SFX) rather than its visuals (VFX).

Although League of Legends is entirely free-to-play, players can purchase various skins and cosmetics to customize their champions. Most skins require payment, with prices ranging from $5 to $50 for ultimate skins.

However, there are exceptions; the Victorious and Three Honors skin lines are available for free to players who meet specific requirements. Victorious skins are awarded to players who earn enough Split Points during a Ranked Split, while Three Honors skins are given to those who maintain honorable behavior.

Typically, these skins are visually stunning and serve as appropriate rewards; however, the latest Victorious Sona skin has not resonated well with many players. Following the announcement of updates to the skin’s SFX, players are now calling for enhancements to her VFX as well.

Victorious Sona is the reward for Ranked Split 2 of 2024. Despite the splash art capturing player interest, many were disheartened to find minimal sound or visual changes compared to her base skin.

Riot confirmed that they would be updating her SFX, with a promise of further improvements after the skin’s launch, but players remain concerned over the VFX quality.

One user expressed disappointment by asking, “What about the poorly made VFX which is just the base Sona VFX with glitter?”

Another player agreed, stating, “I genuinely think the VFX should also be evaluated against the base skin. It really needs significant quality improvements.”

This has resulted in a wave of players urging developers to enhance the visual effects to align with the upcoming sound effects.

“Could we please get some love for the VFX too?” one player inquired.

“And the VFX? It looks so poor compared to other victorious skins released before hers…” another user remarked.

Riot has confirmed that the SFX update for Victorious Sona will occur after release, suggesting that there remains a possibility for a VFX redesign.
