According to the Seocho Police Station in Seoul, A, a man in his 30s who pretended to be Kim Jae-hyun of N.Flying, was recently apprehended on June 13th.
A woman who had fallen victim to A’s impersonation reported the incident to the police, leading to A’s eventual capture. According to an official at the Seocho Police Station, “A has recently been apprehended and is facing charges of fraud and theft.”
During the investigation, it was discovered by the police that several other victims, in addition to the woman who initially reported A, had also been affected by A’s impersonation. Multiple individuals were said to have lost money. As a result, Kim Jae-hyun, the person who A had impersonated, was called in to participate in the investigation as a witness.
In February, a statement was released by FNC Entertainment, the agency of Kim Jae-hyun, addressing the issue of people impersonating the N.Flying member.
According to FNC, they have received reports from fans about someone posing as Kim Jae-hyun and engaging in inappropriate behavior, which is detrimental to his reputation. They urge everyone to be cautious and avoid any potential harm.
As worries about impersonators of both Kim Jae-hyun and other fans increased, the police made the decision to expedite their investigation in order to prevent any additional harm.
Since May of last year, Kim Jae-hyun has been fulfilling his military service as an alternative soldier while also maintaining his role as a member of N.Flying, which he joined in 2015.
