The rapid matchmaking times in Marvel Rivals have unintentionally opened the door to griefing issues and player discontent. Gamers are increasingly advocating for the introduction of a Ready Up feature to help alleviate these problems.
While Marvel Rivals initially suffered from slow queue times—particularly for console users—current matchmaking now often takes mere seconds. Although this fast-paced gameplay can feel like a relief, many find that matches can commence before players are adequately prepared.
This quick matchmaking system has provided trolls and griefers with an opportunity to disrupt gameplay. Consequently, the community has proposed that a solution could minimize these negative experiences.
Proposal for a Ready Check in Marvel Rivals
Within the Marvel Rivals subreddit, a player recounted an incident where a troll persistently eliminated their own teammates. Because this player was the party leader, they exploited the instant matchmaking feature to immediately queue up for another game, even after a loss.
As a result, players wishing to avoid penalties for quitting were left with no choice but to endure the troll’s antics until they finally exited the game. The original poster expressed that implementing a Ready Up feature could effectively mitigate repeated instances of such griefing.

The response from the Marvel Rivals community has been overwhelmingly positive, with the post garnering over 6,800 upvotes. Many others have chimed in, expressing their agreement that some form of buffer in queue times is necessary.
One user shared, “The quick queue times can disrupt my bathroom and snack breaks. They really need a ‘Ready’ button. I’ve told people I was stepping away, but they still queued up! Come on!”
Another community member added, “It’s essential to introduce a straightforward ‘ready’ check for the lobby.”Given that such features have been common in multiplayer gaming for years, integrating a similar system into Marvel Rivals should be a feasible enhancement.
