For seasoned players of the original Hollow Knight, the wall jump mechanic has become an instinctive skill. In Hollow Knight: Silksong, however, this ability must be reacquired by the character Hornet. In this guide, we will outline the steps necessary to unlock the Wall Jump capability in the game.
Unlocking the Wall Jump: Cling Grip Location
Players will be pleased to know that wall jumping is indeed a feature in Silksong. Known as the Cling Grip, this ability will require players to venture into the Shellwood region and reach the Weaver Shrine to unlock it. The precise location is indicated on the map provided below.

Navigating to the Weaver Shrine necessitates a combination of skillful parkour and a challenging confrontational battle with the formidable Sister Splinter boss. Successfully reaching this shrine will grant you one of the most beneficial exploration tools in Silksong. However, prior to accessing Shellwood, players must traverse through the Far Fields and Greymoor regions.

Mastering the Wall Jump
Despite the new name, the Cling Grip operates much like the traditional wall jumping mechanic familiar to long-time fans of Hollow Knight, invoking a sense of nostalgia. To utilize this ability, simply jump and keep the jump button pressed; upon releasing it, Hornet will leap off in the opposite direction. As long as you’re clinging to a flat surface, Hornet can cling and climb indefinitely. This ability significantly improves both exploration and combat dynamics in the game.

A key initial use of the Wall Jump allows players to enter Bellhart and engage in a boss battle within that area. Moreover, this newly acquired skill opens various previously inaccessible locations, enabling new quests such as the Skull Tyrant quest. Players are encouraged to revisit earlier regions to uncover hidden areas and complete their maps.
For additional challenges, consider strategies for defeating Moorwing and completing the Volatile Flintbeetle quest.
