McDonald’s releases first ever vegan-friendly ice cream

McDonald’s has recently caused a stir with their announcement of two new vegan ice cream flavors, making the fast food chain more accessible to those following a plant-based diet.

The recently released ice creams are entirely free of dairy and come in two beloved flavors – Strawberry and Chocolate. These new additions have been praised for their incredibly “velvety and rich”texture, making them an ideal indulgence for the summer of 2024.

Regrettably, there is a significant downside. The newly introduced vegan ice-cream pots are currently exclusively available in the UK as McDonald’s is conducting a trial to gauge their popularity.

Fortunately, it seems that they are already gaining a lot of popularity. According to a Reddit post about the recent release, a customer described the ice cream as “delicious.”

They exclaimed, “I tried it today as well! It was a complete surprise when I saw the options on the menu boards. I decided to try the chocolate version, and it tasted just like a chilled chocolate mousse.”

One advantage is that the ice-creams will come in tubs rather than being served from ice-cream machines. This means customers won’t have to worry about malfunctioning machines when they purchase these delicious new treats.

The new vegan ice cream tubs are currently available for purchase throughout the United Kingdom and will be available until September 3rd. However, it is important to be aware that according to the McDonald’s website, these products may contain dairy as they are produced in a factory that also handles dairy. The price for these new vegan ice creams is £1.59 ($2.01 USD).

When it comes to McDonald’s ice cream machines, customers no longer have to be concerned about whether their ice cream cravings will be satisfied.

The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and DOJ (Department of Justice) jointly wrote a letter to the U.S. Copyright Office, urging for the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to include exemptions for “commercial soft-serve machines.”

Currently, the repair process for McDonald’s ice cream machines is significantly delayed as only technicians licensed by the manufacturer are allowed to perform digital repairs. However, if the above letter is taken into account, third-party repair services could be utilized, resulting in a faster and more efficient service.
