Mephisto, the notorious ruler of Hell, made a striking appearance in the latest episode of Ironheart. New reports indicate that Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is set to bring one of Mephisto’s most compelling narratives to life, which will play a major role in the ongoing Supernatural Saga.

In the climactic finale of Ironheart, viewers witness Mephisto’s interaction with Parker, where he gifts him a magical hood and entices him with promises of “filthy, greasy” wealth.

This reveals the potential for further explorations of Mephisto within the Marvel universe. However, fans are cautiously optimistic, as Marvel has been known to let such opportunities lapse. A case in point is Mahershala Ali’s brief voice cameo as Blade in Eternals, with the film remaining mired in development challenges.

Initially launched in February 2018, the Damnation storyline features Mephisto’s takeover of a devastated Las Vegas, transforming it into a Hellish domain after a Hydra assault. In a gripping twist, Doctor Strange engages in a high-stakes game with Mephisto in a bid to reclaim the city’s souls.

According to The Cosmic Circus, Marvel is keen to adapt this storyline. This comes on the heels of announcements regarding the introduction of the Midnight Sons group, which includes characters such as Blade, Ghost Rider, Elsa Bloodstone, Man-Thing, Moon Knight, and Doctor Voodoo.

“While there will not be a one-to-one adaptation of the original story in the MCU, its influences will be profound, ” the report details.“Mephisto’s ambitions will see him attempting to seize control over Earth and assert his authority over Hell.” At this point, it remains uncertain whether this adaptation will manifest as a film or a TV series.

Further insight is expected to emerge from the upcoming Blade film, particularly concerning Mephisto, who might face off against Lilith, a newly introduced villain rumored to rival him.

According to reports, “The overarching goal is to weave a narrative that delves deep into the supernatural dimensions of the MCU, with the Damnation plot serving as a gateway to an eventual Midnight Sons film.”

Moreover, when Ghost Rider makes his MCU debut, industry insiders have indicated that the character will be portrayed as Johnny Blaze, famously brought to life by Nicolas Cage. There are also hints that we might see Mephisto’s son, Blackheart, and Chthon, the dark author of the Darkhold.

While these exciting prospects are on the horizon, fans may need to temper their expectations for the immediate future. The Multiverse Saga is set to wrap up with Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027, which will pave the way for the new Mutant Saga and the entrance of the X-Men.
