Memoriapolis: Essential Tips for Beginners to Enhance Your Gameplay

Memoriapolis: Essential Tips for Beginners to Enhance Your Gameplay

Constructing a city from the ground up in Memoriapolis presents unique challenges. It demands meticulous planning, efficient resource management, and the resilience to adapt to unforeseen circumstances. Thankfully, our ten essential tips for beginners will guide you through the initial stages, helping you avoid common pitfalls and effectively realize your vision for the city from the outset.

10. Avoid Crowding Culture Buildings

Establishing various Culture buildings attracts new factions while boosting your city’s overall appeal. At the game’s start, space around the City Center is limited, making it crucial to avoid placing all six Culture buildings too closely together.

When new factions arrive, they typically settle near their specific Culture buildings. As your population increases, this can result in tension among factions, adversely affecting your city’s Health and potentially discouraging further migration.

9. Position Farms Away from the City Center

Farms occupy a significant amount of space, as indicated by a large area when placing a Small Farm production building.

Although the initial game phase limits your distance from the City Center, utilizing the Surveyor’s Cabin can help you expand your city boundaries and buildable area. Once you’ve extended your reach, position the Small Farm farther from the City Center, allowing room for Culture buildings at the city’s core.

8. Set Up Trade Routes Early

Engaging in trade with neighboring cities is the most effective way to acquire necessary resources, sell surplus materials, and generate gold coins rapidly. Therefore, it’s essential to establish trade routes as soon as possible in Memoriapolis.

After constructing the Macellum building, you can buy trade routes. Subsequently, the gold coins you earn from taxing residents can be utilized to unlock additional trade routes. Be mindful that not all routes are created equal; some allow resource purchasing but not selling.

7. Prioritize Upgrading the Architectural Office

Blueprints are essential for unlocking buildings and their upgrades. To efficiently generate Blueprints, you need to construct and enhance the Architectural Office first.

In the broader context of resource management, it’s easy to neglect the Architectural Office. However, upgrading this building allows you to produce 30 Blueprints each cycle once a Tier IV building is constructed.

6. Pay Attention to Cultural Radiance Points

The Culture buildings you create and the factions connected to them generate Cultural Radiance Points. To utilize these points, click on your city’s emblem and access the Cultural Radiance menu.

Investing these earned points can unlock valuable passive bonuses for your city, but they can easily be overlooked amid resource management and building upgrades.

5. Establish Numerous Cutting Camps Early

It’s highly likely that your City Center will be surrounded by forests. While most production buildings can be placed in these areas, Culture buildings cannot.

The most efficient way to clear the forested areas is by establishing multiple Cutting Camps. In the early game, focus on placing as many Cutting Camps as possible to swiftly clear space for additional Cultural buildings.

4. Enact Decrees that Enhance Production and Trade

As you unlock and place Political Culture buildings, particularly the Senatus, you’ll gain access to the House of Grievances, where you can pass various decrees for all six factions to receive diverse boosts.

Each Culture offers unique decree options that can temporarily enhance specific stats or improve functionality. For instance, a decree from the Production Culture may accelerate resource acquisition at the Cutting Camp.

3. Don’t Neglect Upgrading Your Production Buildings

In the early phases, boosting production cycles from buildings may not be a pressing concern, but as your population expands, increasing production outputs becomes essential.

For example, a Small Farm will be sufficient for feeding a small population. However, as your community grows, you may need to establish an additional farm or upgrade the existing Small Farm building to a higher tier under the Production category.

After that, simply select the current Small Farm in your settlement and initiate the upgrade. Ensure you have the necessary resources and available workforce, and once these criteria are met, you’ll be able to elevate the building’s tier and start generating surplus food for a larger population.

2. Construct Wonders Outside Your City

While the Surveyor’s Cabin can be placed and removed to extend the buildable territory of your city, Wonders similarly increase buildable areas but have a much larger, permanent effect.

At the conclusion of the Antiquity Age, you’ll receive prompts related to installing a Wonder. The optimal strategy is to place these structures away from the City Center to avoid disrupting ongoing city expansion, allowing for more critical buildings to be erected in proximity to the core.

1. Choose Your Starting Location Carefully

While all the tips listed above are crucial, selecting the right starting location is paramount in city-building simulations, including Memoriapolis.

Resources such as Clay, Stone, Sand, Iron, and Gold will be vital in the long term. Therefore, when choosing your starting position, ensure to assess the availability of these resources in the surrounding area of your proposed City Center.

You can easily check resource availability using the Display Filter located at the top right corner of your screen.

Picking the most advantageous starting location in Memoriapolis will greatly influence your resource gathering efficiency and long-term success, making it an aspect you cannot afford to ignore.
