Despite her reputation for unpredictable behavior, Mereoleona Vermillion remains a formidable Magic Knight. As evidenced in Black Clover chapter 371, the intense battle between her and Paladin Moris Libardirt finally came to an end.
In the beginning, it appeared that Moris would come out as the winner, but Mereoleona managed to turn the tide with some unexpected moves and ultimately secured the victory.
Mereoleona Gets Her New Spell
In chapter 371 of Black Clover, Mereoleona once again surpasses her limits. By utilizing Hellfire Incarnate for an extended duration, she gained access to a new spell known as Ultimate Flame Magic: Excelicitus Leonum. This powerful spell allowed Mereoleona to transcend her human form and transform into pure mana.
In addition, the spell granted her the power to revive the souls of her deceased comrades, akin to the mythical phoenix. While the specifics of this aspect of the spell remain unclear, only Lucius Zogratis has previously been capable of transforming the deceased into Paladins on their own.
Can a Person Resurrect the Dead Permanently?
Even after their deaths, Mereoleona’s subordinates maintained their personalities and memories. This was apparent in their obedience and loyalty to her, even though they had just been resurrected moments ago.
As the battle against Paladin Morris’ army raged on, the revived Crimson Lions Magic Knights joined her in combat. It was evident that their strength had grown and they were now capable of wielding spells beyond the element of fire.
From these observations, it can be deduced that Mereoleona possesses the power to bring back the deceased. Nonetheless, there was one statement she made that may contradict this. The revived Crimson Lions were understandably perplexed and inquired about their sudden return.
“Even if you die, follow me…you fools!!!!”
The conversation suggests that the newly revived Crimson Lions may actually still be dead. Despite their movements and spellcasting, they could simply be mana-formed spirits rather than truly living beings.
This creates the potential for the Crimson Lions, who have been revived, to revert back to their deceased state once Mereoleona’s spell comes to an end.
Is Mereoleona the Strongest Character in Black Clover?
Since her teenage years, Mereoleona Vermillion has been incredibly strong. She was compelled to train in demanding natural settings, surrounded by powerful mana regions and ferocious beasts. These challenging environments played a crucial role in Mereoleona’s development, allowing her to acquire advanced techniques like mana skin and mana zone.
Moreover, Mereoleona’s transformation into mana was unprecedented among Magic Knights. She was the only one believed to have the ability to accomplish such a feat.
Despite not possessing the most talented or blessed three-leaf grimoire when it comes to mana, her mastery of handling mana surpasses all others. Additionally, it should not be overlooked that she now possesses the ability to raise the dead.
In the series, Mereoleona may be the only other Magic Knight capable of the same feat as Lucius Zogratis. However, the manga has not revealed any developments that suggest this possibility. Therefore, it is safe to say that Mereoleona is the strongest character in the series.
